A Year of Challenges and Hope at Bonito Poke

This has, without question, been one of the hardest years we’ve ever faced.
Our food truck the heartbeat of our little business has been off the road for nearly 10 months. We couldn’t operate while we worked tirelessly to meet every state requirement. 10 months later the food truck got the long-awaited approval. That should have been a day of celebration. 
And just when we thought we could finally push forward, another blow came: the engine and transmission gave out on the way to a catering gig. The truck never even made it to its destination. Fixing it meant maxing out our credit cards, and the engine replacement alone cost a small fortune. For a family-run business, that's a mountain to climb. There were moments when we wondered if our business could even survive.
But here’s what kept us going: our people. The Hess family. Our dedicated chefs. And our founder, Steve, who has been giving 110% every single day to keep the dream alive. In our darkest moments, it’s people like them and supporters like you who remind us why we fight to keep Bonito Poke alive.
